Egyptian Mythology

This is an older book and yet it is still a great introduction to ancient Egyptian religion.  In particular, Max Muller provides a helpful overview of the evolution of Egyptian religion.

This was a very enjoyable novel and an easy read.  It is a work of fiction and yet it is very helpful and practical in bringing perspective to life.

Mystery Religions

A good overview of ancient mystery religions.  An older book which often does not translate quotations but still a good introduction to this important subject.

unChristian

This was an extremely good book.  Based on statistical data as well as personal stories, this book presents the views non-Christians have of the church and what we should do about it.  The fact is that sometimes we are unChristian in our behavior and there are changes that are needed for us to present a truly Christian witness.

Ancient Mystery Cults

This is one of the best and most accessible books on mystery religions that I have read.  Although it was not written to defend Christianity, it does demonstrate that Christianity is not based on the mystery religions.  An excellent resource.
