This a helpful collection of non-canonical gospels, acts, epistles and apocalypses. Also includes the earliest canonical lists.

Golden Ass

This is a helpful book for understanding Greco-Roman culture and the mystery cult of Isis. However, it is extremely sexual and may be offensive for many readers.

Orthodoxy

Chesterton had an incredible mind that could look at the familiar things in fresh ways. In this book, he presents Christianity as both a new and exciting land as well as our home where we feel safe. Highly recommended.

Bacchae

This is an important source for understanding the cult of Dionysus. A reading of the this ancient play reveals just how unlikely it is that Dionysus influenced the story of Jesus.
